Common Queries & Logic

What is AXON?+

AXON is a high-fidelity interface designed for seamless data visualization and interactive ambient experiences.

Is AXON a paid service? Is there a catch?+

No. AXON is completely free to use and has no hidden fees or subscriptions. Since we believe in user privacy and open-source principles, we do not monetize any aspect of the platform.

Why are audio previews limited to 30 seconds?+

To ensure peak performance and compliance with streaming API protocols. This limitation allows for rapid data fetching and lower latency while providing a sufficient "vibe check" for the track.

Why don't the lyrics perfectly align with the playback?+

Lyrics are pulled from secondary metadata providers. Variations in track versions (Radio Edit vs. Album Version) can cause slight offsets in timestamp synchronization. However users can use "[" and "]" to sync ahead and back the lyrics.

Why is there a delay when searching?+

AXON pings global databases in real-time. Depending on your network route and the server load of our upstream providers, a 200-500ms handshake is standard for fresh data.

Does AXON store my search history?+

No. AXON operates on a stateless architecture. Search queries are processed in real-time and are not cached or stored on our servers(search quaries are stored locally on your device) to ensure user privacy.

What does the name "AXON" actually mean?+

In biology, an axon is the part of a nerve cell that transmits impulses. Similarly, AXON serves as the bridge between raw musical data and a refined, interactive user experience.

Who is the "Squad" behind the project?+

AXON is a collaborative effort by a group of developers, designers, researchers, and strategists. We’re a lean team focused on pushing the boundaries of how we interact with digital soundscapes.

Is AXON a streaming service?+

Not exactly. AXON is a specialized interface and research hub. We don't host the music; we provide a high-end lens to explore and manipulate audio metadata from existing global platforms.

Why is the aesthetic so dark?+

The "Midnight" theme reduces eye strain and helps the accent colors (like our signature Purple) pop. It’s designed for late-night sessions and deep-focus work.

Is this project open-source?+

We believe in the importance of transparency. So anybody can inspect and contribute to the codebase on our GitHub repository.
